Looking back at the past year, I am still amazed at all of the changes I’ve made. I was overweight, tired, stressed and eating unhealthy. In the beginning I couldn’t even run 2 minutes at a time! I started by finding a personal trainer. Annie got me walking, worked on body strengthening and then running and I found that I actually liked running.It wasn’t easy but under the trainers influence and by surrounding myself with supportive people I’ve been able to achieve balance in my life.

I was running around 7 miles at a time, eating healthier and feeling a lot better about myself. It was about this time that I began to experience pain in my lower legs and daily headaches. Annie noticed that one leg was longer than the other and suggested that I pay a visit to Dr. Shelley. The thoughts of going to a chiropractor scared me, as I like many others had misconceptions about chiropractic. Dr. Shelley was so different, she spoke a lot about wellness and nutrition. She has been adjusting me for 7 months now. I no longer have pain in my lower legs and have experienced only 2 headaches. I now have a better sense of my body and can recognize when I’m out of alignment.In the past year I’ve lost 40 lbs, strengthened and toned my body and continue to eat healthier. In October 2007 I ran my first half marathon!! In July of 2008 I’m going to run the Jay Peak Challenge which is 19 miles of trail running.I’m grateful to Annie, Dr. Shelley and my supportive running buddies. I’m healthier for sure, have more confidence, am less stressed and have a new outlook on life.
